Hi friends!
It’s time for my beauty anti-wishlist April edition! If you’re new to the blog, every month I gather five either relatively new or upcoming beauty launches and tell you why I’m not particularly interested in purchasing them. As always, this is based purely on personal preference and is not meant as a judgement against any brand. In fact, I choose to feature here a lot of products from brands I like very much. You just can’t like everything, you know?
If you’re interested in catching up on all or some of my previous anti-wishlists, here are some quick links: September / October / November / December / January / February / March.
Let’s get into the April list now!
MILK MAKEUP – HYDRATING FACE MASK
I really want to try more Milk Makeup products, especially the Sunshine Skin Tint and their matte stick bronzer. Unfortunately this new Hydrating Face Mask ($24.00) with cannabis oil isn’t one of them. I’ve probably said this before on here, but I really don’t use face masks much if at all. So I’m afraid this would be so wasted in my collection if I bought it. However, I do think this stick format is an awesome idea that would probably cut back on mess and wasted product, so big kudos to Milk on the packaging.

PATRICK TA MAJOR GLOW BODY OIL
I believe this collection from MUA Patrick Ta just launched, but Sephora says it’s coming in late May to stores and online. Actually this isn’t just a collection launch but the launch of a new beauty brand from Patrick. While some of the items from the collection do appeal to me (Highlighting Mist & lip gloss), some others just don’t. I’m specifically talking about the Major Glow Body Oil, which comes in 2 shades and retails for $52.00.
I just don’t understand body oils; I thought the same thing when Fenty came out with the Body Lavas. Unless you’re going to be in a photoshoot or wearing a lot of low-neck or off-the-shoulder shirts or dresses in summer…what’s the point? They always look greasy to me, and to spend over $50 on one?? Nope, no thanks.

ULTA BEAUTY X MARVEL AVENGERS COLLECTION

I don’t know why but I just feel this is so incredibly random! Really Ulta? An Avengers collection? I can understand the ColourPop Disney Villian Collection, or even the Urban Decay Game of Thrones Collection (that’s coming next). But the Avengers franchise doesn’t exactly conjure up feelings of blinding highlight and glossy lips in my mind. Am I wrong? Regardless, here’s the collection none of us asked for and it includes:
- 1 15-pan eyeshadow palette – $20.00 (out of stock)
- 4 lip glosses – $10.00 each
- 4 matte liquid lipsticks – $10.00 each
- 1 4-pan highlighter palette – $16.00 (out of stock)
- 3 makeup bags (range from $12.00 – $28.00)
I have to admit that the eyeshadow palette doesn’t look boring, nor do I think the prices are bad. It just isn’t exciting me, you know? Pass.

URBAN DECAY X GAME OF THRONES COLLECTION

I know, I know. There are so many rabid GoT fans out there that will probably eat up this collection, which launches later this week. And I have to say, I am a GoT fan myself (bring on season 8 already!), but that being said I’m a little cautious of this. I’m not saying I absolutely don’t want any part of this collection, but I definitely would like to see the colors and packaging in store before I fully make up my mind. For instance, the eyeshadow palette looks horribly bulky and big online. But as we all know, online photos can be deceiving so we’ll see.
This collection includes:
- 1 20-pan eyeshadow palette – $65.00
- 4 24/7 Glide On Gel Eyeliners – $22.00 each
- 1 lip/cheek stain – $26.00
- 4 Vice Lipsticks – $19.00 each
- 1 3-pan highlighter palette – $36.00
- 2 eyeshadow brushes – $28.00 each
- Vault with all items – $250.00

BEADED HAIR CLIPS
So this isn’t exactly a launch, but instead a trend. I think this is the first time I’ve included an accessory in any of my anti-wishlists. These hair clips are all over Instagram. Like. All. Over. Either people are wearing them or casually posing them next to their beauty products. They look adorable and very pretty, but I’m not jumping on this trend train. I’ve tried to get into hair accessories over the years, from headbands to clips, but I just don’t think they suit me. My hair is incredibly thick; nothing small & dainty can hold it in place. And my hair never lays nicely whenever I do manage to pin it out of my face anyway. Oh well.
What’s on your beauty anti-wishlist this month? I’d love to know!
xo, Erica
