You know I loveee a nice lightweight, buildable, breathable base product, right? Well if you didn’t, consider yourself now informed! I’d been so curious to try out the Stretch Concealer from Glossier for ages, as I’d suspected that it was all my concealer dreams come true in one pot. But my product line-up was always too full to justify the order. However after my tube of the Revlon Candid Concealer had seen its day, a spot finally opened up and I pounced!
I’ve been wearing this and testing it out since early May, so I’m ready to share my thoughts with you now. I hope you enjoy my Glossier Stretch Concealer Review!

HOW I APPLY THIS PRODUCT
I’m an avid IG follower of celebrity MUA Katie Jane Hughes (@katiejanehughes), who works with Glossier on product development and brand ambassadorship. She uses Stretch Concealer like a solid tinted moisturizer instead of an actual concealer. Meaning, she dips a small fluffy brush into the pot and then gently sweeps the product all across her face, as you would with an regular base product.
I use Stretch both in this way, and also as a typical concealer (i.e. under the eyes and around my nose). When I use it as a solid tinted moisturizer, I often use my fingers to apply dabs of the product across my cheeks, nose, and forehead. I then blend out the product with a mini Bobbi Brown Face Blender brush (pictured above and below in the foreground). When I use it as a typical concealer, I both apply and blend with the warmth of my fingers.
MY THOUGHTS ON PACKAGING
Stretch Concealer comes in a little glass pot that’s not too heavy or clunky. It’s easy to throw in a makeup bag, but it may not be the most hygienic especially if you like to apply makeup on the go. A doe-foot applicator is probably better for this purpose, as it wouldn’t come into contact with your fingers. I’m not one for makeup-on-the-go personally so the glass pot doesn’t bother me.

MY THOUGHTS ON APPLICATION
This is an extremely creamy, almost glossy-textured product. Very unlike your standard concealer consistency, so it glides across your skin almost like a moisturizer would. The moment you look at the product you can see the shine, and the moment you touch it you can feel just how hydrating it is. You really don’t have to use much pressure at all to blend this in, either with a brush or your finger. It’s easy peasy stuff.

MY THOUGHTS ON COVERAGE / FINISH
This is ultimate glowy, glossy goodness right here! If you’re looking for a more matte/demi-matte, or a medium-to-high coverage concealer stay away from this. You’ll probably hate it! This product is perfect for someone looking for a buildable light-to-medium coverage concealer or tinted moisturizer. I have dry skin so I feel a product like this is made for me. But if you have oily skin or a lot of blemishes, it may not be the best option for you. I do like higher coverage concealers and always have at least one on hand in my collection, especially for blemish cover-up. But for me Stretch is a great everyday option when my skin is pretty even.

MY THOUGHTS ON SHADE SELECTION
I believe Glossier just recently expanded the shade ranges on all of their complexion products. Stretch now comes in 12 shades, up from only a pitiful 5 shades. So good on them for that. I have the second lightest shade, G11, which is more neutral-toned. Considering how light the coverage is on this product, I don’t think you need to worry about getting the absolute perfect match like you would with a higher coverage product.

MY THOUGHTS ON LONGEVITY
Considering how creamy and lightweight this formula is, I haven’t noticed a whole lot of creasing or wear particularly under my eyes at the end of the day. But you have to take two factors into account. 1) I never apply loads of product under my eyes with any concealer. I always work in small layers and really work them into my skin; and 2) I always set this concealer with powder when I apply it under my eyes. If I use it all over my face, I don’t tend to set it with powder since I want that glossy effect it gives.
That being said, if I know I’m going to have a really long day (like 10-12+ hours) or be outside in the heat for any length of time, I will not bother wearing this product. It just won’t last as well. In those cases I’ll reach for something more long-lasting with more coverage.

MY THOUGHTS ON PRICE
For $18.00 you get 0.17 oz. or 4.8 grams of product of the Stretch Concealer. Let’s compare it to another pot concealer – the Soft Matte Complete Concealer from NARS. That retails for $30.00 and you get 0.21 oz. or approx. 5.9 grams of product. If you wanna break it down even further, you’re paying approx. $3.75/per gram for the Glossier. And you’re paying approx. $5.00/per gram for the NARS. This scale seems logical and fair considering the ratio of cost to weight.
I love this product and will use it till its dying breath, so $18.00 isn’t a deterrent to me in the slightest.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Glossier Stretch Concealer is for anyone who wants very light, barely-there makeup and who perhaps doesn’t need or want to cover up a lot of imperfections on the face. If you have acne, rosacea, melasma or a lot of hyper-pigmentation and you want to cover it up, go for something like the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer; it’s lightweight but has a lot of coverage.
For me, Stretch has become an absolute must-have in my collection that I’m so happy to have finally tried!
