Colorful editorial look featuring reds & pinks from the Juvia’s Place Saharan Palette

Hi friends!

Welcome back to my Capsule Makeup Series! I present you today with the third look in this 5-part series throughout the month of March. To read more about the concept behind this series and to see up-close photos of all the products, please make sure to check out my introductory post here.

And catch up on my previous looks in this series: Easy Everyday Look / Yellow Eyeshadow Look

I’m continuing with the theme of color for this next look. I decided to keep the focus again on the eyes, with the rest of the makeup very light and almost nude. I wanted to challenge myself a bit with color combinations, so I went with some reds & pinks from the Saharan Palette just to see how well they’d pair together. It turned out kinda like a more wearable, but colorful editorial look.

To recap briefly, here is the list of products I’m using throughout this series to create all the looks. And be sure to check out my new ‘Shop‘ tab, where I’ve included buy links for most of these products! (Except the & Other Stories and Maybelline products.)

COLORFUL EDITORIAL LOOK AND HOW I ACHIEVED IT

STEP ONE – EYES

I applied a small dab of the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer onto my eyelids and blended it out with my finger to act as a primer. I then blended the shade Bororo, a rich shimmery cranberry, all over my eyelid with a big fluffy brush. I also took this color into my crease and blended it slightly above it as well. I then smudged the shade Fula, a beautiful reflective pink, all under my lower lash line.

I applied lots of the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara to both my upper and lower lashes to break up all the warmth around my eyes.

STEP TWO – FACE

(As an aside, I used the Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate as a primer all over my face to give my skin some hydration and slip.)

I applied the Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes, around my nose and on my chin. I then blended out the product using stippling and patting motions with my fingers. This is a look where concealing is important, since the tones on the eyes can make you appear a bit unwell if other areas of the face are also red and/or pink.

Circled shades indicates colors used

STEP THREE – CHEEKS

I patted the Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk (a peachy-brown neutral) onto my cheeks and used stippling motions to blend out the product with my fingers.

STEP FOUR – BROWS

I ran the & Other Stories Eyebrow Gel (which is clear) through my brows to groom them and hold the hairs in place.

STEP FIVE – LIPS

I used a very small amount of the Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk and patted it onto my lips for a barely-there look. Most of my lips’ natural texture & color were still showing through.

Voila! There is my version of a wearable yet still colorful editorial look using a minimal amount of products. In the next look, I’ll be focusing more on the lips and creating different textures, so stay tuned this Monday for the next installment!
