By now you guys probably know how much I love the Glossier Cloud Paints, right? Well if you didn’t know, now you do! From the squeezy tube format, to its creamy texture, to its easy blendability – I just adore them. If you’re a fan of quick, easy makeup you’ll really want to look into them. (If you’re totally unfamiliar with this product, don’t worry, I’ll explain below what it is!)
On a recent trip to Ulta (wow I say that a lot), I scanned the Flower Beauty display as I always do and happened upon the Blush Bomb Color Drops for Cheeks. I immediately recalled someone at some point saying that the Blush Bomb was a Glossier Cloud Paint dupe. I had to test this out right away. I picked up the shade Cinnamon as it was the closest in tone to Dusk, the shade I owned in the Cloud Paint range.
So I’ll first take you through what each product is and what its claims are. Then we’ll dive into the comparison! But just an FYI – this post will be less a discussion on the colors of the products and more a discussion on how the formulas perform.
GLOSSIER CLOUD PAINT
Gel-cream blush you can’t mess up.
With Cloud Paint, we set out to make blush the high point of your routine. The pillowy, gel-cream formula is designed to be the most user-friendly cheek color in existence. If you can finger paint, you can Cloud Paint—simply dab it onto cheeks wherever you please. It’s seamless, sheer, and buildable. Inspired by gradient pink NYC sunsets, the shades are optimized to work across a wide range of skin tones for a healthy, flushed-from-within glow.

As I mentioned before this is a squeeze tube, which I believe is supposed to resemble a paint tube. I usually squeeze out a slightly smaller dime-size amount of the Cloud Paint onto the back of my hand and use that for both cheeks. I like to apply it with my fingers, and luckily I’ve never had any issue with skipping or patchiness ever. It applies pretty effortlessly.
I would agree this is a buildable formula, but don’t be fooled, it has lots of pigment so I would advise building slowly. Glossier claims it has a gel-cream consistency but I’d say it’s definitely on the thinner side of gel-cream. It’s not thick at all by any means so it’s very easy to blend into the skin.
I have the shade Dusk, which is a neutral-leaning-towards-warm peach tone. I love it as I find it goes with a variety of different makeup looks. Check out this post to see me wearing it!

This is also a squeeze tube but this has a small, thin applicator that makes it easier to use just the amount you need of this product. I apply this in the same way as I do with the Cloud Paint; I deposit product onto the back of my hand and use my fingers to apply and blend. Typically I’ll use about 1.5 dots of product for both cheeks.
I do think the name of the product is a bit deceiving though. Color Drops evokes visions of a liquidy formula that you can drip onto your cheeks. That’s not the case here at all. This is a true gel-cream consistency that has a certain amount of body to it. It’s definitely thicker than the Cloud Paint formula.
But I do agree it has quite buildable pigment that’s super easy-to-apply, and leaves the skin naturally radiant. I really, really like this formula too! I have the shade Cinnamon, which is a neutral brown-beige.

IS THE FLOWER BEAUTY BLUSH BOMB A GLOSSIER CLOUD PAINT DUPE??

While there’s definitely differences between their consistences, I’d say performance-wise yes they are dupes! They both apply very creamily and sit on the skin in a similar way. Their formulas are buildable but do pack a punch in terms of pigmentation.
Both products last quite well on my dry skin even after 9+ hours of wear, which is amazing. However, if I’m being super precise the Glossier Cloud Paint seems to fade slightly less than the Flower Beauty Blush Bomb.
That being said, I think the Blush Bomb has an advantage in terms of its delivery system; the applicator prevents any kind of messiness that can occasionally come with using creams. Plus it’s $8.00 cheaper!
For the record, Dusk and Cinnamon are not color dupes though. Dusk is brighter with a much more pronounced peachy undertone, while Cinnamon is a lot more brown.
