Hi friends!
I’m keeping the theme of radiant skin going this week with a look at my current glossy highlighter edit. Now in full disclosure, highlighter is not something that’s a must for me on an everyday basis; there are plenty of days (or even weeks) I’ll go without using it. Most of the time I’m already wearing either a primer or a base that’s really illuminating; other times I honestly just can’t be bothered to pick up another product. However when I DO want that extra boost of glow, these are the three highlighters I currently reach for.
In today’s post I’m going to spotlight The Organic Skin Co In The Spotlight Luminizer, an old favorite; Flower Beauty Day Glow Highlighting Glaze, which delivers dew on a budget; and Glossier Haloscope, a balmy stick that I love to multi-task with. Creamy in texture with soft pearl or shimmer, these products glaze and illuminate the skin without emphasizing texture. If you want to look like a glazed donut in the best possible way, look no further than this list!
(Just to be clear, I’ve included the shade names that I use for each product below which suits my pale Caucasian skin. However, these all come in different shades so if you have a darker skin tone you’ll find other options on each product page.)
Let’s get into my glossy highlighter edit!

The lip gloss edit for lip gloss haters
DISCLAIMER: THIS POST CONTAINS A GIFTED ITEM, BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE 100% MY OWN.

My glossy highlighter edit featuring (clockwise) Glossier Haloscope, The Organic Skin Co In The Spotlight Luminizer (third pan from top in custom palette), and Flower Beauty Day Glow Highlighting Glaze.
THE ORGANIC SKIN CO IN THE SPOTLIGHT LUMINIZER IN LUNAR
- Highly flexible in its use, this luminizer can not only be used over or under makeup, but can be blended with Cheeky Lips colors to create your own, bespoke colors.
- Supercritical extracts of Pomegranate and Calendula offer regenerative properties which help protect and replenish the skin.
- Vegan and cruelty free. Always.
- Lots of organics. Free of nasty stuff.
- Recyclable packaging.
- One product, one tree. Mother Nature looks after you, you look after Mother Nature. That’s symbiosis, right there.
I was very kindly gifted an entire custom palette from The Organic Skin Co after meeting them at Indie Beauty Expo back in 2019, and their In The Spotlight Luminizer is hands-down my favorite single item in the palette. (Check out my full review of the palette below.) I’ve loved this one since day one, and if you want a really sophisticated cream highlighter that has no detectable sparkle or shimmer you’ll love this too. It has a GORGEOUS pearly sheen that just looks like glossy, radiant health when applied to the skin. I’m told it’s kinda similar to the RMS Beauty Living Luminizer in its effect (I have not tried that one though).
I use In The Spotlight Luminizer in a number of ways. As a traditional highlighter (tapped onto the high points of the face), but I also like tapping it onto my eyelids as a super-sheer shadow (it will crease though), and mixing it into cream blushes to change the color and finish. It’s so versatile and easy to use! This product retails for $29.00 if you buy a non-refillable pot, or $18.00 if you buy a pod refill (for slotting into a palette).

FLOWER BEAUTY DAY GLOW HIGHLIGHTING GLAZE IN STUNNER
A LIGHTWEIGHT CREAM HIGHLIGHTER INFUSED WITH ULTRA-FINE PEARLS THAT REFLECT LIGHT FOR A GLISTENING GLOW.
Dewy, glass-like sheen in a swipe! Our lightweight glaze is infused with ultra-fine pearl that reflect light for a glistening, lit from within glow. Cruelty-Free & Vegan.
I first saw one of my IG faves and MUA extraordinaire Katie Jane Hughes use the Flower Beauty Day Glow Highlighting Glaze in her Stories back in early 2020 before it even launched, and I just knew I had to have it! (I even included it in this post about exciting drugstore launches.) This will definitely give you that glossy, glazed look on a tighter budget than the other two highlighters in this post; it retails for just $10.00 for quite a large pan of product. The texture is super creamy, and the shimmer is very soft. I’d say this one definitely leans more golden in undertone than either the Glossier or The Organic Skin Co.

GLOSSIER HALOSCOPE IN MOONSTONE
What it is: A crystal-infused highlighter with skin conditioning benefits. Cruelty-Free. Dermatologist-tested, formulated without fragrance. $22.00.
WHY IT’S SPECIAL:
- The stick’s outer core (the “halo”) is formulated with genuine crystal extracts for an all-day glow that’s not glittery
- The solid, oil-based inner core is made from vitamin-rich moisturizers for a hydrated, dewy finish
The newest highlighter in my collection, I snagged Glossier Haloscope in the same pre-Christmas order as I did Futuredew. Haloscope is different from the other products in this post in two ways: it has the most sparkly finish, and it’s in a super user-friendly stick format (vs. a pan). It also has a built-in moisturizing core surrounded by the highlighter, so you get a mix of something quite balmy & glossy and something quite sparkly when applied to the skin. It sounds a bit horrible on paper, but I can tell you the finish is just beautiful!
In addition to wearing Haloscope across my cheekbones, I’ve really been loving it as a barely-there glaze on my eyelids. I can’t tell you how many times I find myself reaching for it in this way; and surprisingly, it really doesn’t crease very much! Haloscope retails for $22.00.
