Hi friends!
You guys know that I absolutely love drugstore beauty, and writing about drugstore beauty. Even when I go to Ulta I often find myself perusing the drugstore aisles more than the luxury section. Overall, you can get such great quality products for affordable prices at places like CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Target and beyond.
Check out this post I wrote a while back about where you can spend and where you can save when you shop for beauty.
There’s always tons of new drugstore beauty launches dropping all the time that it’s hard to keep track. But all you have to do is keep an eye out for the displays at either the front or even the back of the store for a peek at the brand-new items. Although there’s much less in-store shopping going on these days, many of us are still braving the aisles at our local drugstores for food and supplies. During one of my more recent CVS trips, I had a wander down the beauty aisle and spotted some new launches (or at least new to me) worth noting. From cream blushes, to new foundation and complexion products, consider this list as the “sister” to my monthly anti-wishlists; these are some of the new drugstore beauty launches that I AM interested in!
Just to be totally clear, I haven’t tried nor bought any of these products (yet).

WHY I’VE GOT MY EYE ON THIS PRODUCT
I haven’t had much luck with cream color products at the affordable level. In the past they’ve always been too patchy, too dry or too sheer. But I just know that one day the drugstore will catch up to more luxury formulations, and start offering better-performing options. So whenever a new drugstore cream product launches, I’m super intrigued to see if this is thee one that marks that turning point. Being that this one is from Maybelline, I think it’s got a 50-50 chance of being good.

WHY I’VE GOT MY EYE ON THIS COLLECTION
I have to say, this collection really excites me! Physician’s Formula normally has amazing quality products so I’d be shocked if not even one of them is a slam dunk. Everything is cream-textured and I always, always prefer creams over powder textures; the finish is usually much more natural, dewy and hydrating. I doubt I’d get all four of the listed items at once, so if I had to pick one I’d probably go with the Dewy Blush Elixir. They’ve gotten great reviews on YouTube and have been compared to the Em Cosmetics Serum Blushes, which I’ve also been very intrigued by. My second pick from this collection would probably be the Silk Foundation Elixir; it sounds right up my alley since I absolutely love thin, lightweight, barely-there foundations.

WHY I’VE GOT MY EYE ON THIS PRODUCT
Wow I didn’t realize how many blushes I put on this list – whoops! I do have a thing for blush, I can’t help it. So as I mentioned with the Maybelline Cheek Heat, I’m always intrigued when the drugstore launches a new cream – or in this case jelly – blush. I believe there are also bronzers and highlighters in this range from Rimmel, but I’m not so interested in those personally. I haven’t used a lot of jelly-textured products before, but from what I’ve heard they can be very hit or miss when it comes to pigmentation and blendability. I’d be intrigued to give this one a go. I don’t have a whole lot from Rimmel in my collection, but from what I’ve tried before (the Stay Matte Pressed Powder, and the Exaggerate Automatic Lip Liner) their products are really top-notch for the price.

ELF HYDRATING CAMO CONCEALER

Source: ELF / Instagram
WHAT IT IS
Our Camo concealer just got better! Our new light-weight, full-coverage formula doesn’t flake and gives your skin a boost of hydration for a satin finish. Camouflage those pesky spots and under-eye circles with this high-coverage, hydrating and longwearing concealer.

WHY I’VE GOT MY EYE ON THIS PRODUCT
I’d heard great things about the original Elf Camo Concealer. Awesome coverage, great longevity and a wide range of shades and undertones. But the texture is described as quite matte and more suited to oily skin. Not for me. Then they debuted the new Hydrating version which claims to be lighter – but just as full coverage – with a satin finish. Now, I loveeee the sound of that, and that’s why it’s landed on this list of new drugstore beauty launches. I’ve never tried any coverage product from Elf before, but they such a solid brand that I have a great hunch about this concealer.

FLOWER BEAUTY DAY GLOW HIGHLIGHTING GLAZE

Source: Flower Beauty / website
WHAT IT IS
Dewy, glass-like sheen in a swipe! Our lightweight glaze is infused with ultra-fine pearl that reflect light for a glistening, lit from within glow.
WHAT IS THE PRICE
WHY I’VE GOT MY EYE ON THIS PRODUCT
OK, so I didn’t see this one at CVS because, A) Flower Beauty isn’t carried there, and B) it technically hasn’t launched yet. I actually heard about this cream highlighter through one of Katie Jane Hughes’s Instagram Stories, where she showed and applied it. It looked totally gorgeous on her, and again, right up my alley. A cream highlighter that offers a glass-like, dewy shine with no glitter or sparkle in sight? Yes, please! I don’t know what the launch date is, but I’m watching their social media closely for more.
What new drugstore beauty launches have caught your eye? I’d love to know!
xo, Erica
PIN IT!
I’ve never tried anything by Physician’s Formula before but I’ve been wanting to. I’d love to try the elf concealer! And I can always use more CVS beauty points. 😉
Oh, they’re so good! They’re definitely one of the pricier brands at the drugstore but I think for good reason. I’m soo tempted to buy the Elf concealer now, but I want to use up more of my Neutrogena concealer first.
I’m not normally a Rimmel fan (the brand legit never works for me) but the blushes look so cute also, the Physician’s Formula line looks AW-SOME! PF is a bit tricky to get here but I hope this line arrives
I’ve had pretty good success with Rimmel personally. PF has such good quality products! I was just in the drugstore yesterday and went over to their display. Held myself back from buying anything but one day I’ll get something from this collection, I just know 😉.
Those Rimmel jelly blushes sound fun, hope the formula works out for you if you get to try it! I’ve heard good things about the Elf Camo Concealer too, Elf is one of those brands I don’t really have an interest in but I know they do have some great products. That highlighter is stunning <3
They do! I’m sure if I end up getting it, I’ll do a review. Elf is such a great brand, they are one of my favorites hands-down. I want to start trying their skincare soon since it’s so affordable. Can’t wait for that highlighter to launch!
Is it just me or are drugstore brands coming out with more cream blushes and what not?? I swear I hadnt seen that many before lol. The Maybelline one sounds okay to me.
As far as PF goes, I’ve tried some product from their organic range YEARS ago and thought it was decent. I currently have a few products from them that I’m absolutely loving so I know their stuff is good. Shame to hear they are not considered CF anymore. Sad day this week lol
I am SO EXCITED about elf’s hydrating camo concealer. I might have talked with you about this, but affordable brands are lacking hydrating concealers. Most of them are matte which sucks. My skin type leans more towards oily but I say its combo skin, even on my oily areas, matte concealer never worked for me so I always had to be very careful with it . Anyway I’m excited for it and cannot wait to buy it when it launches,.I hope. 😀
Yes I think you’re right about cream blushes, and it’s about time I say! Drugstore brands have been behind the ball with cream color products in my opinion. Everything is always powder, powder, powder.
That’s so misleading to consumers because it says cruelty-free all across the PF website. I just saw Ethical Elephant’s article. When will brands realize that CF shoppers want products that are categorically cruelty-free, not just cruelty-free in one country or another??
Me too, I so want that Elf concealer! I feel a purchase coming on real soon! 😉
Yeah a lot of the powder blushes are very dry or they are baked, and it can be hard to find a good formula. I don’t think any of the blushes I have bought from the drugstore are my fave, I mean I like them and yes I use them, but they’re not my fave lol
I’ve heard amazing things about ELF blushes – have you tried any of those? I’ve had my eye on those primer-infused ones since they launched…
once long ago I used a baked one but wasn’t into it as much, and I also tried a cheek and lip tint but again, didn’t like it either. you had to blend it immediately otherwise it would dry so quick and not budge.
I had an ELF blush wayyy back in the day that’s was just OK. But I’m very curious to try some of their newer blush formulas one day.
I do believe their new stuff is better. They have stepped up their game since I found them when I was in my teens LOL
Oh, for sure!
Ooo, the Rimmel jelly sounds cute & fun! & the elf concealer caught my eye, too. The Flower brand is def one I need to try!
I didn’t end up buying any of these yet because I was trying to curb my spending during COVID. But that Elf concealer is still on my hit list and one day I will buy it! (And report back of course.)
