Hi friends!
For someone who hardly ever bothered to apply creams or lotions below the neck until pretty recently (at least on a frequent basis), I’ve managed to grow my body care collection quite generously in just the past few months. Granted, the main catalyst for this was a few lovely items that were gifted to me. But since we’re soon entering into the coldest months of the year where some of us *really* start to suffer from dry, dehydrated skin (hand in the air if that’s you too!), I thought it would be fun and hopefully helpful to go through my collection one-by-one, give you my thoughts, and of course rank everything from my least to my most favorite/most used.
I’ve done a few posts like this before with my foundation collection, and my cream blush collection. They are a little outdated now but if you like this kind of thing, feel free to check those out.
Without further delay, let’s dive in!
DISCLAIMER: THIS POST CONTAINS GIFTED ITEMS, BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE 100% MY OWN.

5. PHLUR HANAMI BODY LOTION
I touched on the Phlur Hanami Body Lotion in an earlier post this Spring about skin treats for the body, but this is probably the oldest lotion I have in my current collection. I received the full size bottle in a gift bag back in early 2019. While this is in no way a “bad” body lotion – it’s great if you want a thin-textured, lightly-scented moisturizing lotion with absolutely no stickiness – I don’t find myself reaching for it much. Perhaps since my skin is so damn dry and flakey, I simply prefer the thicker, more nourishing creams. I do love the sleek branding and squeeze-tube packaging, which makes the application process very clean and easy. But it’s just not a big favorite. Just as well because it looks like it’s being discontinued; I can’t find it in stock anywhere online.
4. WELEDA SKIN FOOD BODY BUTTER
Now, I usually just use the regular (original) Weleda Skin Food on the dry, rough bits on my body, but when I saw the Skin Food Body Butter on the shelves at CVS I became instantly intrigued. It has a twist-off cap, which is slightly annoying since I don’t like digging my fingers into product. But otherwise the packaging is lightweight and non-offensive. Weleda is not kidding when they call this a “butter;” it literally has the texture of whipped butter you just pulled out of the fridge! Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Where are my Breakstone Whipped Butter people?? If you know, you know! For that reason I find it challenging to scoop this cream out of the tub. It’s also a bit difficult to apply to the body; you almost have to warm it up first. I definitely prefer the texture of the original Skin Food over this. That being said, the Body Butter is very, very nourishing as you would expect from a Weleda product. It also has that beautiful essential oil-type scent that both the original Skin Food and the Skin Food Light have.

3. CERAVE MOISTURIZING CREAM
You guys know how much I loveeee CeraVe, so you don’t need me to tell you all over again. (New here? Check out my beginner’s guide to CeraVe skincare, featuring all my current faves.) But if you haven’t yet tried the insanely-affordable, insanely-hydrating CeraVe Moisturizing Cream yet, you’re missing out! It’s the thicker, more nourishing cousin of their Daily Moisturizing Lotion, and it’s a great option if you prefer your body care to be fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin. What I love the most about this cream is that it’s thick but it’s in no way sticky or greasy. It just absorbs into the skin and leaves behind this beautiful smoothness and softness. If you can, get the bigger 12 or 16 oz. tubs which come with pumps for easy-peasy application.

My body care collection, featuring Frank Body Perky Sculpting Body Hydrator and AHAVA Superfood Smoothing Body Lotion

Swatching my body care collection! Clockwise from center: AHAVA Superfood Smoothing Body Lotion, Phlur Hanami Body Lotion, Frank Body Perky Sculpting Body Hydrator, Weleda Skin Food Body Butter, & CeraVe Moisturizing Cream.
2. AHAVA SUPERFOOD SMOOTHING BODY LOTION KALE & TURMERIC
This one just edged out the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream by a tiny smidge. I actually dedicated a whole post to this brand’s Superfood body care launch after they gifted some products to me, but I’ve been reaching for the AHAVA Superfood Smoothing Body Lotion quite a lot since I wrote that post; more than I thought I would to be honest. In my previous post I agreed it was a solid lotion but that the CeraVe could do the same thing for less. Well, that is still true but I think between the lovely botanical scent and the sleek, easy-to-use packaging of the AHAVA I’ve just been favoring it more lately. It’s incredibly light but also moisturizing, and it just sinks into the skin without much tackiness left behind. It’s a great one to apply any time of the day or night for that reason. So if you’re looking to treat yourself, or someone else, to a lovely body lotion for the holidays you may want to check this one out.
1. FRANK BODY PERKY SCULPTING BODY HYDRATOR
This is the newest entry to my collection, and it very quickly sky-rocketed to the top of this group. I attended the virtual launch event for the Frank Body Perky Sculpting Body Hydrator (and their new Booty Drops) after the brand very kindly gifted a few bits to me. If you wanna read more about that, just check out this recent post. But lemme tell you, this cream is a feast for the senses! It not only looks adorable (it’s packaged in a reusable coffee cup), it smells ah-mazing (coffee & vanilla), and it feels luscious on the skin as well. The texture reminds me of Pillsbury cake frosting, and it leaves your skin feeling so incredibly soft and hydrated for hours. Big statement coming, but out of all the body creams I’ve ever used this one leaves my skin feeling nourished for the longest. I just love it!
What’s in your body care collection? I’d love to know!
xo, and be well, Erica
PIN IT!
The CeraVe, Weleda and Frank Body options all sound like winners!
They really are!
Now is definitely the time to start stocking up on moisturizing creams. Winters can be brutal on my skin. I love body butters!
Oh me too, and I kinda don’t care if I stick to my bedsheets a bit. I’d rather have really soft, moisturized skin!
I swear as soon as the Frank Body creams arrives here I’ll pick it up, my legs get SO DRY in winter I’m going to need it like air!
They probably do international shipping since they’re an Aussie brand, but hopefully they get some Italian suppliers soon! I’ve loved what I’ve tried so far!
all of these sound so good 😀 i can see why you love them 🙂
i’d definitely want the body butters from frank body & weleda as well as the body lotion from ahava 🙂
Honestly, they’re all good but I do find myself reaching for some textures more than others, so I thought it would be fun to rank them!
ah yeah makes sense, i’m the same way, i go for thicker ones for winter and lighter ones in the warmer months LOL
