Hi friends!
Thrive Causemetics makes it debut on the blog today with two mini/rapid-fire reviews. First up is the Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara, probably their best-known product, and lastly I’ll discuss my thoughts on their Eye Lift 360° Waterproof Primer. My interest was piqued in the brand after years of seeing their Instagram ads – particularly for the mascara – and by their bright teal packaging, which I think really makes them stand out. So I’m happy to finally have some of their products in my collection. I’ve been testing everything out for a while now, and there’s definitely a hit and a miss in this little bunch that I’m keen to share with you all now.
If you’re not already familiar with Thrive, they are a DTC (direct-to-consumer) makeup and skincare brand that heavily focuses on giving back, particularly to charities and non-profits that support and uplift women. You can read more about their ethos on their About page. They are also vegan and cruelty-free for those who care to know.
Let’s get into the reviews!

MY THOUGHTS:
This is definitely the HIT of the couple for me. Let’s first touch on the packaging, like I normally do in my longer reviews. So I already mentioned how much I admire the bright teal exterior, but lemme tell you, this has GOT to be the heaviest mascara component I’ve ever held! It’s definitely a weighty little thing, but if you can get beyond that, it feels very luxurious for the price. Personally it doesn’t bother me much, but it’s just worth noting.
As far as application goes, the plastic wand comes out of the tube very cleanly, so you will not have to remove any excess product. This also means that your lashes will not get overloaded straight out of the gate, which I love. The spikes grab onto the lashes really well, and the tapered shape lets you get into the inner and outer corners of your eye.
If you apply just one coat of this formula, you probably won’t be impressed (take it from me!). You definitely need to layer it to really get that long, defined lash that you see in their social media ads. But be forewarned, I’ve found that layering it once the formula is dry to be a bit tricky. Like with a lot of mascara formulas, layering wet over dry can lead to clumping and the Liquid Lash Extensions is no different in that regard. But apply two generous coats when it’s still wet and you’ll get amazingly long, bambi-like lashes.
The Liquid Lash Extensions is a tubing mascara, which makes it very easy to remove at the end of the day (just add warm water). No excessive rubbing or tugging necessary, which we love! This also means it’s a no-smudge formula as well, although I do find it flakes a teeny bit; nothing too obvious or annoying though.
So is this my new, most-favorite mascara? No, but I do really enjoy using it and think it’s a solid choice if you want really long lashes and/or have problems with mascara smudging. However if volume is an absolute necessity to you, I’d definitely recommend the L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara over this one; it delivers on both volume and length.

MY THOUGHTS
I like this primer and then I don’t; its performance completely depends on what you blend over top. For that reason I wouldn’t say it’s a total miss, but it’s definitely not holy grail status for me either.
It’s super easy to apply with the long, flat doe-foot applicator, and the texture is thin and creamy. It sets down pretty quickly (within 10-15 seconds) to a slightly-rubberized matte finish. My eyelids look smoothed, but I haven’t noticed any other visible effects to my skin.
Let’s start with the positives. I do believe the Eye Lift 360° Waterproof Primer extends the wear time of my eyeshadows, and prevents creasing throughout the day no matter which shadows I use. (For reference, I typically wear my makeup anywhere from 8 to 11 hours on any given day.)
My issue with this primer is all to do with how shadows layer over it. I have absolutely no problem when I try to blend shimmer or metallic-finish shadows over top; I get no skipping, tugging or patchiness. But matte shadows…that’s another story! They apply totally patchy so I often have to go in with my finger to even the color out. I’ve found this is particularly true with MAC matte shadows, which I admit tend to be a little on the drier side. But I even had blending issues with my beloved ELF Mad for Matte 2 Palette, and those are extremely buttery. It performed pretty well with Dose of Colors and Charlotte Tilbury matte shadows, but for the price I’m still underwhelmed.
If you’re going to spend $24.00 with Thrive, you’re much better off snagging the Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara instead.

I love the look of the mascara, I need to find this brand here!
It really delivers on length, as you would expect from the name. It’s definitely not the most volumizing, but it doesn’t claim to be, so you really can’t judge it on that. But I find I definitely need to apply two coats with this formula; one is just not enough.
I’ve never tried anything by them before. I wonder what makes the mascara container so heavy?
No idea, but when I unpackaged it I couldn’t believe how weighty it felt! It makes it feel really expensive for just $24 though, so no complaints from me!
I feel like this brand popped out of nowhere with some gooood products! excited to try it
I first saw them on Instagram a few years ago, and was immediately drawn in by the mascara. The models lashes looked sooo incredibly long!
