Australian skincare brand Frank Body is launching two new body care products TODAY that are all about the butt. Yea, you heard that right! Butt care is definitely a trend that’s been picking up pace in the past few years, from creams to sheet masks and everything in between. Don’t believe me? Just check out this article from The New York Times.
So I was contacted by the brand’s PR team a few weeks ago, asking if I wanted to attend their virtual launch event – or “Booty School” as they called it – for their new Booty Drops Firming Oil and Perky Sculpting Body Hydrator. I was just too intrigued by all the cheeky semantics so I had to say yes! I received their lovely Butt First, Coffee Kit, which contained both products in a cute drawstring bag. I’ve just started playing around with them in the past few days, so in today’s post I wanted to give you some of my first impressions. I don’t really do “first impressions” posts very often, if at all, but with body care I usually know pretty quickly if I’m into it or not; so I figured it was OK in this case.
Let’s dive in!

BOOTY DROPS?? EXPLAIN!
- $17.95 for 1.05 fl. oz. / 31 ml
Drop it like you’re hot. My Booty Drops is a firming body oil to help smooth you over. Each drop is packed with caffeine to firm, guarana to energise, carrot root extract to hydrate, plus grapeseed & jojoba oils to soften skin and get you glowing. Drop me straight onto your booty for soft and firm skin or mix me with your moisturiser for extra perks.
A forklift for your butt. Caffeine firms skin and helps your booty look more toned. So you can cancel your gym membership, #letsbefrank.GUARANA
Guarana is an energy drink for your skin. It’s packed with antioxidants and helps deliver nutrients to your favourite ass-et.CARROT ROOT EXTRACT
You’ve heard carrots are good for your eyes. Well, carrot root extract is good for your butt. It wakes up your skin and hydrates you where you need it.GRAPESEED & JOJOBA OILS
This moisturising duo puts an end to your dry patches. A few drops of me and your skin will feel more supple, and your lumps, bumps, and marks will look less obvious.

OK, if you’re waiting for me to talk about how I massage this oil on my actual booty, you will be sorely disappointed. I haven’t been using this on my butt, nor will I probably ever. I have been using the Booty Drops Firming Oil primarily on my forearms, around my elbows, and mixed with the Perky Sculpting Body Hydrator on my legs. Body care can be used anywhere on the body, not just where it’s marketed for.
(Remember, brands are always looking to position products in their line-up, and in the larger market. So the name and messaging around a product are usually informed by those decisions. But we as consumers can do what we want, within reason.)
This is an extremely lightweight oil with absolutely no greasiness. It disappears into the skin in almost a nano-second, leaving your skin feeling softened and lightly moisturized. I’ve particularly noticed a difference around the dry skin on my elbows; it just feels so soft and kinda transformed after I apply this oil there.
As far as scent, coffee is in A LOT of Frank Body products – Booty Drops included – so if you don’t like the smell of coffee, you might hate this. Personally I think it’s delicious, so I’m in love! But it’s important to note in any case that the scent doesn’t slam you over the head, and it does dissipate over time.

I like this oil. It’s lightweight but still hydrating, and I love the scent. That being said, it doesn’t seem like an absolute essential for me. I’m pretty low-maintenance when it comes to body care; just give me a good cream or moisturizer and I’m good to go. But I will happily continue to use it, especially around my elbows.
PERKY SCULPTING BODY HYDRATOR (IT’S REALLY JUST A BODY BUTTER)
- $19.95 for 7.76 fl. oz. / 230 ml
Feeling flat? My Perky Hydrator will perk you up. I’m a sculpting moisturiser for smooth and hydrated skin. Packed with caffeine to firm your favourite ass-et, acai to give you a boost, shea butter to hydrate, and longan seed extract to sculpt your booty. I also come in a reusable coffee cup to rinse when you’re done for coffee on the run.
This ingredient is my claim to fame. Caffeine firms, tightens, and perks up your skin, so it feels like you after a coffee: ready to go.ACAI
A super berry that’s packed with power. Acai contains antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C, & E to work their magic on dry & damaged skin.SHEA BUTTER
A spread for skin, not toast. Shea butter hydrates your booty and nourishes your skin without leaving it greased up or weighed down.LONGAN SEED EXTRACT
Clinically proven to help sculpt your skin. I always knew you were a work of art, #letsbefrank. Plus it fights free radicals (those pests that cause skin damage).
Water (Aqua), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Lauryl Laurate, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Fragrance (Parfum), Caprylyl Glycol, Caffeine, Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Nephelium Longana Seed Extract, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid. Total Naturally Derived 93%
Again, I don’t apply this to my butt; I’ve been using this primarily on my legs, ankles and the tops of my feet. This product may have a long name, but essentially it’s just a body butter. BUT I LOVE IT!! Oh my goodness, it’s soooo beautiful! First off, the smell is intoxicating to me (coffee again, with some hints of vanilla). I just wanna eat it out of the container, to be honest. Secondly, the texture is so luxurious and reminds me of the texture of cake frosting. And lastly, but certainly not least, it’s very hydrating. My skin feels soft and nourished for hours on end. I usually apply this at night, and I still feel its softening effects the next morning when I wake up; that definitely hasn’t been the case with other body creams I’ve used. Best of all, it’s under $20.00 – very affordable!
I have to also mention the packaging here. It comes in a reusable coffee container with a twist-off lid. You have the words “Butt First, Coffee” on the side, and also the silhouette of a butt on the top. So cute!
The only ding I’d give this cream is it can be a little sticky when it comes into contact with bedsheets. So if you apply this at night like I do, just keep that in mind; it’s a little on the thick side, but then again body butters usually are.

The Perky Sculpting Body Hydrator is definitely the big winner of the two products from this launch for me. I love me a good body butter, and this one really delivers on texture, hydration and smell. I can see it being a staple in my routine, especially going into Fall/Winter when I will really need the hydration.
Would you try any or both of these new launches from Frank Body? I’d love to know!
xo, and be well, Erica
