Hi friends!
After I had the pleasure of chatting with celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg back in May, she very generously gifted me her entire collection of Jamie Makeup Blighlighters. I’m always (always) down to try new blushes and this one is marketed as part cream blush, part highlighter. I’ve been testing out all five shades for a while now, so I’m excited to bring you my full, in-depth review. Let’s get started!

THE DEETS ON THE JAMIE MAKEUP BLIGHLIGHTER

MY THOUGHTS ON PACKAGING
Before even receiving or using these blushes, I was struck by the amazing packaging design of these Blighlighters. Everything from the logo, to the font, to the overall design screams retro to me, yet it holds a certain uniqueness in a sea of otherwise neutral packaging. This is definitely going to stand out on your makeup table or on your Instagram feed for its whimsy and colorfulness.
The actual component is a featherweight plastic that opens and closes with a pleasing snap. I brought one shade with me on a recent trip (The Nude One) and it’s the perfect thing to throw in your travel bag for its size and lightness. There’s no mirror, which may be a deal-breaker for some who like to apply their makeup on the go, but I hardly ever use compact mirrors myself.
RATING: 5 / 5 ⭐️
MY THOUGHTS ON APPLICATION / PIGMENTATION
These are quite pigmented blushes that don’t need much building up – at least not on my fair skin – so I like to apply one to two dots per cheek. They are so, so easy to apply onto the skin! Jamie always uses her fingers when demo’ing the formula on social media, and this is usually how I like to apply them as well. Just a few creamy dabs and it’s blended with no hard edges. I have also used a dense stippling brush with these and it works a treat in moving the cream around without picking it back up again.
RATING: 5 / 5 ⭐️

The Jamie Makeup Blighlighter is a cream-textured satin-finish blush that’s available in 5 highly pigmented shades.
MY THOUGHTS ON FINISH / WEAR
It’s all in the name, people! The Blighlighter gives you the pigment of a blush, but also the subtle sheen of a highlighter. So think, satin finish. Sometimes I’ll use an additional highlighter on the days where I really want that extra glow, but very often the shine that I get from the Blighlighter is enough for me.
I start to notice a fading of color around the five/six hour mark with this product, but I still see an “impression” of color on my cheeks after a full day’s wear. Just be aware, I have dry and dehydrated skin; your unique skin type may impact the performance differently.

MY THOUGHTS ON SHADE RANGE
There are a total of five shades in the Jamie Makeup Blighlighter collection, swatched below. The shades are pretty self-explanatory, but I’d say they all tend to be quite warm in tone overall. So if you prefer neutral or cooler tones, be aware. By far my most favorite and most reached-for shades are The Nude One (which is like a mix of beige and orange), and The Pink One. I love these! The Coral One sits squarely in the middle for me, with The Penny One and The Cherry One being my least reached-for. My fair (cool-undertoned) skin clashes a bit with coppery tones and red tones, so I have to be careful with shades like these. I bet they’d look amazing on deeper skin tones though!
I’d love to see Jamie expand this line with more neutral shades, and perhaps a cooler berry tone as well.

MY THOUGHTS ON PRICE
The Jamie Makeup Blighlighter retails for $34.00 for 0.15 oz of product, which is on par with some other luxury cream pot blushes on the market including the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge and the Trinny London LIP2CHEEK, for instance. If you’re a die-hard cream blush lover like me, you’re likely going to love this product no matter what. I’d happily pay $34.00 for a well-pigmented, high-performing product like this because I know I’ll get the wear out of it. Plus, it can do double duty on the cheeks with its shiny finish. But, of course, you need to decide how much money you’re willing to spend in which category.

FINAL THOUGHTS
As you can probably tell, I’ve been loving these Blighlighters! I think Jamie did an awesome job in creating something that’s very user-friendly, very well-formulated and lovely to look at. I think the shades are varied enough and pigmented enough to work on a swath of different skin tones as well, which is very important.
Would you pick up any of the Jamie Makeup Blighlighters? I’d love to know!
xo, and be well, Erica
