Hi friends!
August’s Beauty Inspiration Challenge is coming to a close today. I hope you guys all enjoyed this month’s looks, each inspired by beautiful surroundings and some less obvious aspects of life. If you’d like to catch up on everything all the direct links are down below for your convenience.
For the final look I got inspired by change – seasonal change that is, as we transition from summer heat into cooler autumn in the coming weeks. I do love summer dearly; after all the warmth is so fleeting where I live. But there’s something special about the fall to me. The crisp air, the gorgeous explosion of color.
So today I wanted to shift away from how I constructed the rest of the looks in this series (i.e. all focus on the eyes), and give myself a bolder fall-toned lip! Who doesn’t love those warm reds, cranberries, oranges and burgundy shades?? This is a pretty simple look that could suit so many different people, so let me take you through what I did!
Catch up on this series!

STEP ONE – EYES
I wanted to spend as little time on my eye makeup as possible for this look, as opposed to last week’s look. So I applied the Laura Mercier Cavier Stick in Caramel, a warm yellowy-brown, all over my eyelid and up into the crease. I then blended it out my finger; it’s such an easy formula to work with. On top I applied just a touch of the Maybelline Made For All Lipstick in Spice For Me – a rich pumpkin color in a shiny finish – in the center of my eye to add a slight orange kick.
Lastly I applied lots of the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara to my top lashes, and a little Pixi Lower Lash Mascara to my bottom lashes.

STEP TWO – FACE
I wanted my skin to look healthy and juicy, so I first primed a bit. I combined roughly equal parts of the Weleda Skin Food Light with the L’Oreal Lumi Glotion in Fair and slathered that all over my face to add some hydration and radiance. I then blended a small amount of my beloved Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue along the center of my face to add some coverage. Lastly I used my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes and on my chin to control redness. (I forgot to include this in the product shot below, whoops!)

STEP THREE – CHEEKS
Instead of using a traditional blush for this look I decided to switch things up and use one of my creamier lipsticks! It had to be my much-loved Flower Beauty Mix n’ Matte Lip Duo in Honey Nude (just the matte lipstick end). I’ve talked about this product countless times on here before, mainly as a lower-cost dupe to the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick. It’s so stunning.
To apply it to my cheeks, I deposited a decent amount onto the back of my hand and used a duo-fiber brush to pick up the product (I use this one from Lancome). I then lightly swirled the brush onto my skin to lay down the color. I took my time with this, working in small layers to really build up the product. I loved the effect I got as a result!
For highlight, I tapped a small amount of the L’Oreal Lumi Glotion across the tops of my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose.

STEP FOUR – BROWS
Nothing fancy or time-consuming here. Just a bit of clear brow gel, as usual. This time I used the now-discontinued & Other Stories Eyebrow Gel. Just whizzed a bit through, did a bit of back-combing for fullness, and left it at that.
STEP FIVE – LIPS
I wanted some cohesiveness between the eyes and the lips, so I used Maybelline Spice For You again. I applied it with full pigment and shine so you could see the full effect. It’s an extremely comfortable lipstick to wear that stains quite nicely; even after a meal or drink, after the shine wears off, you’ll still have some color. I love this shade as it’s unlike anything else in my collection! On my skin tone, it’s a true pumpkin-like orange. Perfect for fall!
What do you think of my fall-inspired look? Does the change in seasons inspire a change in your beauty routine? I’d love to know!

Thanks babe! It’s super comfortable to wear too, which is such a bonus!
OMG when I was in my 20’s I used to use lipstick as blush too. I totally forgot about that! Thanks for the memory. I love how subtle yet flattering this makes you look.
Thanks so much Diane! I love using products for multiple purposes!
The Maybelline lipstick sounds so nice, it’s the absolute perfect shade for autumn! I love how you used it on your lids too & another lippie for your cheeks! So creative & gorgeous, Erica! I’m sad to see this challenge end. 😭
Thanks so much for reading and supporting Hunida!! It is *the* perfect fall color! 😉
