Hi friends!
I’ve always been a bit skeptic when it comes to face mists and sprays. I’ve included a few on my various beauty anti-wishlists, and I usually pass them right by in store aisles. I’ve just always thought they were unnecessary for me. I get my hydration from my skincare and primers, and when I want long-lasting makeup I use my tried-and-tested favorites (read this post for more info on those) – which spoiler, don’t include a face mist. But perhaps I haven’t met the right one yet, I always thought.
So recently I was strolling the beauty aisles at Target and I came across the new and improved Pixi display. (They took Pixi away for a while at my local store, causing me a certain amount of anguish, but it’s back now baby!) Just when I thought I should really delve more into their skincare someday, I saw the Pixi Glow Mist. I’d heard such great things about it for years, along with their Hydrating Milky Mist. Could the Glow Mist be the product that changed my mind about face mists? Fifteen bucks lighter, I was ready to find out!
WHAT DOES THE PIXI GLOW MIST CLAIM TO DO?
- Gives a glowing, luminous and smooth complexion.
- Enriched with 13 natural oils plus propolis, aloe vera and fruit extracts.
- Hydrates, protects and nourishes.
- Sets makeup, adds a dewy finish and protects skin.
- Refreshes makeup, hydrates and adds glow.
- Use on hair for a luminous, healthy glow.
- Suits all skin types.
- Not tested on animals.
For reference, I’ve only used this right after I apply my makeup; I apply several pumps all over after shaking the bottle for a few seconds. I have not tested it on bare skin.

SO…DOES IT EVEN DO ANYTHING??
For me, I haven’t really noticed much difference in my skin or makeup since before using this mist sadly. And keep in mind, I have quite dry skin so I usually benefit from products that give both hydration and dew.
Does it give glow? Yes, a little bit right after application. However, after a few minutes the effect is gone and never to return.
Is my skin more hydrated? Perhaps marginally. Like I said earlier, I get the most hydration from whatever skincare or primer I’ve used underneath my makeup.
Does it extend the wear of my makeup? Again, perhaps marginally. My skin tends to hold onto makeup quite well normally, so it’s hard for me to tell if the Glow Mist really helps in that regard.
I do really like the actual mister. The product comes out really finely and evenly; it’s a very soothing experience overall.
DID THE PIXI GLOW MIST CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT MISTS?
Not really. I enjoy the experience of using it, but it hasn’t become a staple in my routine by any means. I just don’t see enough effects from it. I do think it’s a nice, affordable product for the right person but it’s something I could take or leave. I’ll likely not repurchase it.
Have you tried the Glow Mist before? What are your thoughts? I’d love to know!
