Hi friends!
Although I will be talking lots about launches and news that excites me this month (check out the intro to September’s blog theme here), today’s post is all about the things that don’t excite me. Yup, it’s my beauty anti-wishlist September 2019! A monthly tradition on here for a year now. Every month I pick out five newish product launches that just don’t do it for me for whatever reason, and then I tell you why. No disrespect meant of course; just some chatter and a bit of gossip.
If you can’t get enough of this type of thing, check out some of my earlier lists linked below!

Now let’s get into the September list!
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS NORVINA PRO PALETTE VOL. 1
Lately I feel like I’m moving away from eyeshadow palettes; it’s just a bit of a pattern I’m in right now. I’m more attracted to the ease of a single shadow, especially for everyday wear. While I’m sure this Norvina Pro Palette Vol. 1 is phenomenal quality (ABH doesn’t mess around with their shadows), it seems too big and bold for my current makeup preferences. I do love how this isn’t just another neutral palette though; if I was a professional MUA I’d probably be all over it. You get a whopping 25 shadows for $60.00 after all! But I’m pretty set with the palettes I currently have, so I’ll pass.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY AIRBRUSH FLAWLESS FOUNDATION
I feel Charlotte Tilbury’s complexion products are made for those who want that whole red-carpet-Instagram-perfection kinda look. That’s cool, but it’s just not my vibe when it comes to skin. This new Airbrush Flawless Foundation seems to fit into that perfected category from what I’ve gathered. It’s a full coverage formula with a “natural matte” finish. Supposedly it’s not going to dry your skin out, but I’m still not convinced when the product claims include “waterproof” and “transfer-resistant.” It also has some magic anti-wrinkle ingredients that activate within eight weeks of use. Again, all well and good for those who want something like that, but I’ll stick with my lighter coverage foundations and tinted moisturizers.

HUDA BEAUTY LIFE LINER
I’ve been super open about my struggles with black eyeliner on the blog. I just have no patience for liner, and therefore I’m quite crap at it! So when I heard that Huda Beauty was releasing their first ever eyeliner this month, I could muster nothing more than a blank stare at the screen. But if you love your black liner, you may want to listen up! It’s called the Life Liner, and apparently it’s dual-ended with a pencil on one end and a liquid on the other. It’s smudge-proof and extremely long-wearing; like 48-hour kinda long-wearing, supposedly. I can’t wait for the ‘I Wore the Huda Beauty Life Liner for 48 hours Straight’ videos to come out on YouTube soon!
It launches on Sept. 12th on Huda’s website and on the 18th everywhere else the brand is sold. I know my mom is intrigued to try it, but I’m good with my L’Oreal Infallible Waterproof Liners for now.

GUERLAIN PARURE GOLD MIST
I initially spied this on Trendmood’s Instagram page, and oh my goodness what a princess product! Now, I’m not hating on princess products at all (I have a few myself), but I’m not sure anyone can convince me that face mists need to be this expensive. It’s a $46.00 mist from Guerlain that sets your makeup and helps hydrate & protect your skin apparently. Let that sink in: $46.00…I just couldn’t go that far down the rabbit hole when it comes to a product like this. I’d rather spend that on amazing skincare or beautiful cosmetics that will make me look amazing and feel confident. Not on a mist, sorry Guerlain.
Actually I’m just starting to experiment with mists now to see if they really make a difference to my skin and/or makeup. Rest assured, I’m starting on the much lower end of the price scale. Stay tuned for a post later on this month all about it!

FLORENCE BY MILLS BEAUTY LINE
Well Millie Bobby Brown is now one of the latest in a long line of celebrities starting beauty brands. If you don’t know who MBB is, chances are you’re not a Stranger Things fan. Gasp – such an amazing show! Anyways, Millie is only 15 years old so she designed a beauty line for…who else…teenagers. A teenager I am not, so therefore this line just wasn’t made for someone like me. However if I was a teenager I’m sure I’d be all over this cause the packaging is adorable! It looks like there’s a nice mix of skincare and makeup here that’s perfect for someone just starting out with beauty products. So if you have teenagers, know them or are one – this may be for you! It launches exclusively at Ulta on Sept. 8th.

£46 for a face mist??? Who is paying that?! Honestly.
Agreed, a Huda eye liner doesn’t seem exciting, but, love the idea of the duel end, very handy! ..
Well, depending on the wear and price. 48 hours makes me a little confused though… maybe if you’re at a festival and you’re partying from 6am to the next day!
Great post xxx
Thanks for reading Kaya! No idea who’s paying $46 for a face mist, but it ain’t me! I think if I was more into black liner I’d probably be all over the new Huda one, but I’m so crap at liner that I usually just stick to cheaper versions from the drugstore.
To be fair, all liners are gonna smudge at some point of the day so it’s no point paying loads for them… if youre good at applying them or not 🙂 xxx
Agreed!
$46??? That’s a no from me. I bought a face mist from Avon a while back and I actually like it. You can barely tell you have it on and it seems to keep my makeup from wearing out in the heat of summer. But it sure wasn’t $46. 😀
I’m on the fence about face mists no matter the price, but I can totally see how more oily skin people like them for setting and extending the wear of makeup. But yea, a $46 mist is a hard pass from me too!!
Why in the world do they think we will keep paying higher prices and $65 for 25 shades???? Seriously, who would wear all 25 colors? I would rather pay for the individual colors I know I will wear.
People usually purchase palettes for the variety it can give you, but 25 is a lot of options! Honestly I think this is mainly geared towards professionals in the industry, which makes a lot more sense since they work on different people all the time.
I didn’t even know that Huda released a new eyeliner, but since it has a pencil on one end it’s definitely not for me. I can only do liquid liner, I’m too clumsy for pencils!
I didn’t know that Eleven had a makeup line omg! I’m not going to get anything, since I’m also not a teenager, but good for her. I can’t wait for Stranger things season 4!
I’m also a hard pass on that Guerlain face mist.
Oh wow, I’m the other way round – better with pencils and not with liquid! Either way, I’m just not much into liner these days.
I looovvee Stranger Things so much – season 3 was absolutely amazing, wasn’t it??
I wish I was better with pencils!
Yes season 3 was great!
I would agree with you on most of those EXCEPT for the eyeliner. That liner has my name on it !😘😉💄
I’m not surprised! 😉
At the moment I’m also staying away from eyeshadow palettes. The market is oversaturated that nothing seems interesting or original lol. I got a few releases I’ve got my eye on later so I’m saving up for that instead. We shall see..
$46 for a face mist….? No thank you.
I had heard of Millie’s brand but never looked into it or the products and they have launched by now I’ll have to check ulta then and see what she has there lolol
Ohh tell me, what do you have your sights on for palettes?? Always looking to be enabled 😆. But I wholly agree, there are way too many shadow palettes that just aren’t too interesting. I think MBB’s brand looks so cute!
I’m looking forward to the Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson palette which apparently is coming out in the fall, I also saw that BH Cosmetics has mini zodiac palettes and they havent released the Scorpio one, and they also have another palette that is kind of newish but I forgot the name lol.
BH Cosmetics has amazing stuff! My mom just bought two palettes from Ulta and she loves them. Is the JS/SD palette really a thing?? I thought it was a joke…
Apparently so. I mean, it did start as a joke but I’m sure Shane thought about it a bit more and maybe Jeffree sort of gave him that push to actually do it. Shane Dawson is releasing a trailer for their series on Tuesday so not too long until we see what they have been working on.
Aw nice what palettes did your mom get??
I saw that about the trailer. I’m curious to see what this all is about cause there’s sooo much hype about this series. I generally like Shane, but I no longer follow Jeffree, so I’m conflicted.
She got the Love In London Palette and I’m not sure what else, ha! I think it had Brazil or Rio in the name but not 100%.
Well the series trailer was released this week, the series will start October 1st, so it seems like it’ll be anything and everything including the whole process of them creating what looks to be a collection so I’m kind of excited. I hope I can get my hands on at least the palette if they’ll have it lol. But I understand you not wanting to watch someone you no longer like.
I saw the trailer! Again, very mixed feelings about it. The whole putting together of the palette part will probably be quite interesting if you’re into makeup like we are. But 9 parts??!! That’s a lot of commitment on the viewer’s part. I’m interested to see how Shane keeps the story compelling over that long of a stretch.
Well considering it’s Shane Dawson, I think people will still watch it. I mean, he did do an 8-part series with Jake Paul and it was well received and a lot of people watched it as well. It seems they’re including the whole ordeal with James Charles and Tati which is a little disappointing but I guess I understand that they were involved and that was their reality for a while, being that JC was friends with Shane or something as well as JC and JS. So idk. I’m more excited about the making of the palette because as consumers, it’s something we’ve never seen, like the process and all, so I want to see that really badly and I also really want to see the reveal of the full collection.
Yes, I definitely agree the palette part will probably be most intriguing. Not surprised that all the dramageddon stuff is included, but it probably won’t be a major part of it. But let’s wait and see what we happens!
Well I saw part one today, I don’t know if you’re planning on watching it or not, but the whole episode seemed to be more like an introduction into what Shane was getting himself into and the kind of life that Jeffree lives, meets and greets, flying from place to place etc. It seems like a bit extra but I get it, he’s a business man (woman?) so all that comes with it I guess. The 2nd episode hasn’t been announced yet but it’s called the “Business of Beauty” or something like that. So we may get to see how much it costs and all of that. Should be pretty interesting, the mini trailer at the end of the episode made it look like it will be a bit intense.
I didn’t get to see the first episode last night, but I read some recaps and it seems like a lot of intro footage, just like you said. So I’m thinking I may skip this one and tune in for the next episode, which may be a lot more interesting. I think it’s set for Friday now.
I’m still waiting for news of when the 3rd episode will go live but the 2nd one was so so good! Lots of light was shed into the costs of production and how much products go for. I always had a gut feeling that products were being sold for more (obviously because they need to make a profit) but holy shit… I wonder how some brands will react to this from here on out. Maybe no one will care but eh.
I still haven’t watched yet cause I’ve been so busy, but I heard the second episode was very good! I definitely need to watch it!!
Oh oh oh Ace Beaute also has some pretty looking palettes that I really want I just need to save up for them. The brand has really nice pigments and their formula is one of the best I’ve tried so far and of course, super pigmented and blends nicely!
Never tried anything from them before, but they were at a trade show I recently went to. I passed their booth and their stuff looked interesting!
They definitely dont have a lot, I only have one of their palettes thanks for boxycharm. Cannot wait to get another one of their
Yea I think they’re kinda up-and-coming right? It’s hard to keep track of all the new brands out there now, it’s insane!
The ABH palette is gorgeous & so fun but you made totally valid points for not wanting it in your collection. The Charlotte Tillbury foundation seems to be making a lot of claims… anti-aging AFTER 8 weeks? Uhhh. Yeah, right. Sounds like a ploy to make you use it all up! I hate eyeliner & can’t be bothered with it either but that’s pretty cool how Huda has designed a double ended liquid & pencil. I’ll def be watching a video or two of someone trying to wear it for 48 hours lol. Don’t hate me but, I’ve never heard of MBB because I’ve never watched Stranger Things… her packaging is adorable though. I wouldn’t mind a trying their makeup but, since it’s for teens, I’d stay away from the skincare for sure.
Always love these anti-wishlists, Erica! I know I say it all the time. 😛
You need to start watching Stranger Things this weekend! I’m telling you, you’ll get obsessed, it’s the best! Millie is adorable, and so is her line. If I was much younger, I’d totally try it too!
I know if I loved liner I’d totally buy the Huda one. I do think 2-for-the-price-of-1 is awesome for buyers.
I had tried watching the first episode once but fell asleep lol I don’t know if I can make myself watch it again now! & totally agreed about the Huda liner!
It’s sooo good; you’re missing out! 😉
