Hi friends!
If you missed my last post, I’m spotlighting lipsticks all throughout the month of April. That is, both lipsticks that are new to my collection, and older ones that I want to try and rediscover. Today I’m featuring one of my “forgotten” lippies, the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color. I wanted to pose the following questions to myself: why don’t you reach for this product much anymore? And now that you’ve rediscovered it, will you continue to use it or declutter it?
Let’s get into it!
THE DEETS ON THE BOBBI BROWN CRUSHED LIP COLOR
- AVAILABLE IN 25 SHADES – $29.00
The look of a lipstick meets the feel of a balm for our most wearable lip yet. Loaded with crushed pigments and lip-loving ingredients, it’s the ultimate swipe and go formula. Rich in Vitamins E and C and beeswax, the balmy formula glides on comfortably with a satin matte finish that leaves lips hydrated and kissably soft. Plus, it won’t feather or fade for crush-worthy color that lasts all day.

WHY HAVE I “FORGOTTEN” IT?
Honestly, I don’t know why. Perhaps I got distracted by newer items in my collection…? This is one of those anomalies because I feel I can’t point to a specific issue I have with either the product’s texture or tone. I love them both! Sometimes you just have too much and can’t give love to every little thing, you know? In truth, I specifically picked out this lipstick when my brother was searching for something to gift me for Christmas in 2017 or 2018.
The Crushed Lip Color is touted as having the color of a lipstick with the texture of a balm, and I would 100% agree with that. It is SO comfortable to apply and wear, and the color punch is definitely there. I have the shade Lilac, which is a pink with a gentle infusion of purple. Or you could also call it a raspberry shade.
I’d say the finish is definitely demi-matte or satin, which is usually my preference these days. I’ve found I’ve gravitated away from the 100% matte textures that I used to like a few years ago; I want a bit of shine now.
The only claim I wouldn’t agree with is the longevity. Bobbi Brown says the color “…will last all day.” Hardly. If you drink a glass of water or have a light snack, yes it will survive. But as soon as you have a substantial meal, it’s all but gone. This doesn’t bother me personally because I’d rather have the moisture, but just don’t buy it thinking it’ll last as long as a liquid lipstick or a long-wear lipstick.

WILL I KEEP IT OR DECLUTTER IT?
Definitely keep! I’m going to make a concerted effort to wear this more since it’s such a lovely lipstick. I could also use it as a cream blush since the texture is so easily blendable, and I absolutely love multi-tasking my products.
Have you tried the Crushed Lip Colors yet? What lipstick do you have hiding in a corner of your collection that you want to rediscover? I’d love to know!
xo and be well, Erica
PIN IT!
