Hi friends!
Truth is I haven’t been wearing much makeup at all lately thanks to a nice gash I got on the left side of my face. (No worries, it’s nearly healed now thank goodness!) So in today’s post I wanted to give a little shout-out to my three most used beauty products of the moment. Think of this as my most minimal of makeup routines, or what I wear when I don’t wear makeup.
You’ve seen these products here on the blog many, many times over so this is really nothing new or ground-breaking. But I think it’s good to champion those hero products that we reach for time and time again, and (sometimes) focus less on all the newness that’s constantly happening in the beauty world. Wouldn’t you agree?
(That being said, there IS some newness coming up on here in March so keep a look-out for some fun reviews very soon!)
Let’s get started!
WELEDA SKIN FOOD LIGHT NOURISHING CREAM
The new cream is a more light and fluid version of our best-selling Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream. A vibrant herbal blend of chamomile, calendula, and pansy invigorates your senses while feeding dry skin a dose of moisture.
Helps make skin feel smoothed and nourished. Dermatologically tested and free from synthetic preservatives, fragrances, colorants or raw materials derived from mineral oils.
Even if I’m not putting any kind of coverage product on during the day, I still want my skin to look fresh and healthy. For me this means a hydrated, dewy and plumped finish. There’s literally no other product I’d rather reach for than the Weleda Skin Food Light. This is SUCH a hero product for me. It’s the lighter sister version to the heavier, slightly greasier original Weleda Skin Food, which I find just a bit too intense even for my dry skin. (If you’re interested in a breakdown of the two versions, check out the link down below.)
I apply about a nickel-sized amount (sometimes more) of the Weleda Skin Food Light all over my face, and it makes my skin feel so beautifully hydrated all day long. Literally all day long, I don’t joke! The dewy finish is gorgeous as well. Just what the doctor ordered.
I absolutely love the Glossier Futuredew as well for really hydrated, glossy-looking skin but on completely bare skin with no coverage, I find the finish a little too high-shine for me if you can believe that. The finish I get with the Weleda walks just the right balance between dewy and natural.

My three most used beauty products of the moment, including Weleda Skin Food Light, Flower Beauty Mix n’ Matte Lip Duo in the shade Honey Nude, and Maybelline Brow Sculpt Duo in clear.
MAYBELLINE BROW FAST SCULPT IN CLEAR
Brow Fast Sculpt® Gel Brow Mascara colors, tames, and shapes eyebrows in a New York minute. The pigmented eyebrow mascara formula colors as the mini eyebrow shaper brow brush shapes and tames eyebrows for all day naturally sculpted brows without the hassle.
If you’re a longtime reader of my blog, you’ll know that the Maybelline Brow Fast Sculpt was thee brow discovery for me in 2020. I’ve sung the praises of this little $8.00 drugstore gem in many-a-post (see links directly below), but if you want absolutely amazing hold and fullness with very little effort this is the product for you! I’ve gone through two tubes of the Soft Brown shade, and I’m currently on my second tube of the clear version (pictured in this post).
I will always have a clear brow gel in my collection. Sometimes I want to define my brows but not make a feature out of them, if that makes sense. It’s absolutely perfect for times like this when I wear little to no makeup, and a tinted brow gel just feels too intense on an otherwise bare face.
So, most days I’ve just been reaching for my clear Maybelline Brow Fast Sculpt for a few quick swipes of definition after I moisturize with the Weleda.

In big news: I’ve started wearing a bit of lipstick again! I always seem to go in phases with lipstick; are you the same way? I’ll wear it nearly everyday for a few months, and then I won’t touch it again for months afterwards. Well, I’m just starting to feel the itch to paint my mouth again after months of completely nude lips.
I don’t know about you but whenever I wear very minimal or barely-there makeup, I always find myself reaching for lipstick to add a little color and brightness to my face. So that’s exactly what I’ve been doing lately, and it has to be my one-and-only, all-time fave Flower Beauty Mix n’ Matte Lip Duo in the shade Honey Nude. You know this one, guys. It’s a pretty near-on dupe for the iconic Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick in both color and texture, but I’d argue it’s even that little bit more comfortable and lush-feeling on the lips.
It’s such a comfy satin-matte texture that feels life-giving to the lips even hours after application. I recently re-purchased a tube from CVS after my original tube went off; that’s how much I love it. I never want to be without it in my collection. For the record, it is a duo lipstick-lip gloss product but I really only use the lipstick side.

Hi! New follower here. I live in NYC! I just got a new tube of Welleda myself. Sometimes I even use it under my foundation, even if it’s a little oily
Hi Polina, thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the internet! I’ve tried using the Weleda under several of my base products in the past, but I do find that most of them tend to bunch up over the thickness of the cream. However, that being said, it works beautifully in conjunction with the Glossier Stretch Concealer, which I use as a tinted moisturizer all over my face. So I guess it all depends on what texture you’re using. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
I love your blog! I found it while looking at Mac Uninterrupted on google images. I ended up ordering it, I haven’t used it yet though. I really want to have glossy dewy skin but I always end up doing my standard layer of full coverage foundation with powder, I think it’s just a comfort zone thing. I just got the Nars matte foundation. I think one day I’ll be a dewy girl I’m just not there yet.
Thank you so much, I so appreciate that! It’s a real labor of love ❤️.
I love MAC Uninterrupted. Didn’t know they still sold it. Enjoy!
I’m definitely a dewy, glossy girl all the way but I have to be because my skin is so dry and dull all the time.
