Hi friends!
Welcome back to my Capsule Makeup Series! The looks are coming fast and furious now as we’re quickly approaching the end of the month. To read more about the concept behind this 5-part series, and to see up-close photos of all the products I’m using, make sure to check out the introductory post here.
Catch up on all the previous looks in this series: Easy Everyday Look / Yellow Eyeshadow Look / Colorful Editorial Look.
Today I present you with the 4th look which may be my favorite yet. In the past few looks, I focused mainly on the eyes but I wanted to shift attention to other areas of the face here. So I’m calling this my glowy & glossy look, since it was all about creating sheen and dewiness on the skin & eyes without the hassle of using actual gloss, or any other sticky textures. I wanted to pair this with a bolder lip, and I couldn’t have been happier with the results!
To recap quickly, here are the products I’m using throughout this series. And be sure to check out my new ‘Shop’ tab where I’ve included buy links for most of these products! (Except the & Other Stories and Maybelline products.)
EYESHADOW
Juvia’s Place Saharan Palette
MASCARA
Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara
CONCEALER
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
BROW GEL
& Other Stories Eyebrow Gel
(I couldn’t find a link for this product online, so perhaps it’s only available in stores or it’s been discontinued. Not sure.)
BLUSH
Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk
LIPSTICK
Flower Beauty Mix n’ Matte Lip Duo in Honey Nude
HOW I ACHIEVED THIS GLOWY & GLOSSY LOOK
STEP ONE – EYES
I applied the Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk to my eyes with my fingers as I would a cream shadow. I patted the cream all over, taking it slightly above the crease as well. I then took the shade Iman, a beautiful shimmery white, from the Juvia’s Place Saharan Palette and blended it over the Cloud Paint to create a quasi wet, glossy look. (This sets the cream, by the way, so no creasing!)
I then applied the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara to both my top and bottom lashes.
STEP TWO – FACE
(As an aside, I used the Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate as a primer all over my face to give my skin hydration and slip.)
I applied the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes, around my nose, and on my chin. I then blended out the product using stippling and patting motions with my fingers.

STEP THREE – CHEEKS
I used the Cloud Paint again on my cheeks as a blush, and patted it in with the warmth of my fingers. I then applied the shade Iman across my cheekbones with a small brush – overlapping slightly with the creamy Cloud Paint – to create a lovely highlighted sheen.
STEP FOUR – BROWS
I ran the & Other Stories Eyebrow Gel (which is clear) through my brows to groom them and hold the hairs in place.
STEP FIVE – LIPS
I mixed the shade Sokoto, a very bright matte orange-red from the Saharan Palette, with the matte lipstick from the Flower Beauty Mix n’ Matte Lip Duo in Honey Nude on the back of my hand to make a custom color. This created a much bolder matte pink shade. I then patted the mixture onto my lips using my fingers.
Voila! There’s my no-fuss glowy & glossy look using powder and cream textures in a very multi-functional way. The 5th and final look in the Capsule Makeup Series will be coming your way this Friday.
