The drugstore eyeliner you need in your life!

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Pencil Eyeliners

Hi friends!

You know that when I make a new discovery in the beauty world, I gotta share it with you all. Last month I talked about a stand-out drugstore brow gel from Ardell in this post (which I’m still loving, by the way), and now I’m here with an amazing drugstore eyeliner recommendation!

OK, listen up. If you want a creamy, yet long-lasting drugstore eyeliner check out the L’Oreal Infallible ProLast Waterproof Eyeliner Pencils. They are sooo nice! I’ve long been an uber fan of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Gel Eyeliners, and I still am (you can shop the range when you visit my Shop tab). But this formula from L’Oreal is just as good in my opinion. I absolutely love it when I find something at the drugstore that’s cheaper but just as effective as a higher-end favorite!

Shop the L’Oreal Infallible Waterproof Eyeliner Pencils here. They’re less than $10 each; such a steal!

THE TEXTURE

This is a standard pencil liner format that needs sharpening as the product wears down. The first thing I noticed when I used this formula was the creaminess. Wow, is this baby smooth when you swipe it across your lash line!

It’s been a while since an eyeliner has impressed me, and this one truly has. I’ve tried so many pencil formulas from different brands over the years, and a lot of them tug and buckle on the skin which I absolutely hate. There’s no tugging here. It definitely has that waxy, long-wear texture that a lot of other pencils have, but this one gives you such smooth color and application. Major score!

You do get a few moments of playtime after you apply this product to smudge if you so choose. But then it sets for longwear and doesn’t budge. I’ve typically worn this product for about 8 to 10 hours with no smudging or transferring. (Just so you’re aware, I do not have oily eyelids normally.)

THE COLORS

They have a very impressive range of colors in this line, ranging from bright purple, to teal, to grey and bronze. There are 15 shades in total from what I can see on L’Oreal’s website, although I’m not sure that all colors are carried in stores. For example, Ulta sells about 12 of the shades but a few are “online only.”

I first bought the shade Ivy, a beautiful shimmery olive green. After I fell in love with that one, I bought 4 more shades in Black (matte), Bronze (shimmery brown), Purple (iridescent violet), and Aubergine (slightly iridescent eggplant). I just had a little eyeliner declutter, so it was perfect timing to add a few more in my collection.

I’d say all of the colors perform very well. Although saying that, Purple has the tendency to almost blend away completely if you smudge it too much. And I do think it could be a bit brighter.

ONE WARNING

I tried experimenting with these textures as cream shadows by putting them all over the lid, but don’t bother doing that. Due to their long-wear formula, these pencils are just too waxy to perform well in that capacity and they don’t blend out well over larger spaces on the eyes. I ended up hating my makeup that day since it looked so choppy, so take it from me and just use them for their intended purpose as eyeliners!

Have you guys used these eyeliners before? If so, what did you think? I’d love to know!

xo, Erica
