Hi friends!
The indie beauty content is rolling on this month! Today I’m talking all about the amazing lippies from The Sexiest Beauty, a boutique beauty brand started by industry vet Heather Fink. After her time at MAC, Agent Provocateur, and after launching the beauty category at Victoria’s Secret, she decided to start her own brand focused on her go-to beauty essential, lipstick. There will be more from Heather very soon on here!
For more info on the brand itself and it’s people-positive messaging, click here.
So let’s look at The Sexiest Beauty’s lip wardrobe now, which includes classic bullet lipsticks, lip gloss and liquid lipsticks. If you love your lip products, you’ll love this post!
For clarity, I’m not showing all of the colors but I am running through all the textures that the brand currently offers. I do, however, have two of their classic bullet lipsticks, so I will show you both colors.
DISCLAIMER: all of the products shown here were very kindly gifted to me by Heather. However, this is not a sponsored or paid post in any way.

MATTESHINE LIPSTICK IN NYMPHO NUDE

- Paraben-free
It’s probably no surprise to anyone that this is my favorite out of the two Matteshine Lipsticks I now own! I just can’t resist nude lipsticks, can you?? Nympho Nude is the lightest shade offered in the Matteshine texture, and I’d say it’s a warm nude with a pink undertone. It truly stands out in my collection as probably the lightest nude I have. While I photographed the color on its own in the image above, I often do like to mix a darker, more pinky lip liner in to make this tone work a bit better with my skin tone. (You’ll see this effect in Wednesday’s post!)
I love the formula here. Very creamy and hydrating with one-swipe coverage. I’d say the lasting power is not bad either since it’s somewhere between a matte and a cream formula. You will have to touch up after a big meal, for sure, but the tone will stick around for several hours after application.
And lastly, the packaging on the Matteshine Lipsticks – so luxurious-feeling! They’ve got a shiny, almost patent-leather effect and the click on the cap is oh so satisfying. There’s a slight weightiness to these lipsticks that make them feel a lot more pricey than they are.
MATTESHINE LIPSTICK IN F’IN FUCHSIA
- $20.00 – SHOP HERE
- Creamy demi-matte finish
- Available in 9 shades
- Cruelty-free
- Hypoallergenic
- Fragrance-free
- Paraben-free
This is a fun one! When I first saw this shade I immediately thought of that iconic Revlon lipstick Cherries in the Snow. It’s a bright, yet slightly deep hot pink or fuchsia that’s perfect for those more adventurous with their lip colors. I don’t have anything else like this in my collection as I’m currently married to pink or brown nudes! But I’m still enjoying this.
I photographed this at full pigment in the image above to show it’s potential (it was actually brighter in person!), but I personally like to wear this as a stain. I put on a clear or lightly-colored balm first and then dab a small bit of F’in Fuchsia onto my lips with my fingers. If you want to see the effect I get from this application, check out the post I linked directly below. I’ve also tried dabbing a small amount onto my cheeks as a cream blush.
Since this is such a bright shade it will stain very well, so the longevity is really there. You get that whole I-was-just-eating-berries kinda look by the end of the day.

S-PROOF MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN NICE MELONS
- $21.00 – SHOP HERE
- Modern matte texture with buildable coverage
- Available in 14 shades
- Cruelty-free
- Vegan
- Hypoallergenic
- Fragrance-free
- Paraben-free
FYI – while the packaging I’m holding here says “Sex-Proof” I believe Heather said that they are in the process of changing the product name to “S-Proof.” This formula is extremely thin and lightweight on the lips so the dry-down period is quite short. You will definitely need to build up the color if you want full pigment, considering the thin consistency and the smaller applicator.
But wow, look at that color! How gorgeous! Like F’in Fuchsia, Nice Melons is a real statement color that looks stunning with really pared-back makeup everywhere else on your face. I’d say it’s a hot coral shade that leans more towards red.
While this formula does contain ingredients to hydrate the lips, I still find it too dry for my liking. Of course you can always lay down a balm before or after to help things, but I wanted to test it completely on its own for this post. There’s also some tackiness that sticks around (hehe) for a while after you apply it. Let’s just say, if you don’t go for completely matte liquid lipsticks you probably won’t like this. Personally, it’s my least favorite from this line-up.
DSL GLOSS
- $17.00 – SHOP HERE
- Ultra glass-like shine
- Available in clear only
- Cruelty-free
- Vegan
- Hypoallergenic
- Fragrance-free
- Paraben-free
This was so unexpected, but I’ve truly been reaching for this gloss over and over again! What is going on?? I used to HATE gloss for so many years. But I do think brands are changing the game in terms of newer, more modern gloss formulas now. Yes, I do believe a gloss is always going to have bit of tackiness no matter what; it’s kinda the nature of the beast. But you no longer have to settle for straight-up glue on your lips – hooray!
DSL here stands for Diamond Shine Lips; it’s uber shiny and reflective. It’s a very simple little product but I love, love, love how you get a brush instead of a doe-foot applicator. I’m not sure if it makes the product apply better or not, but I just love the feeling of the bristles against my lips as I apply it. Call that superficial, but it’s the truth.
I’ve worn this both over other lip colors and on it’s own (as pictured above); it’s equally as reflective. I’ve also utilized this in another way on my face, believe it or not, which I’m saving for a separate post in a few weeks. The formula is super hydrating on the lips and feels almost cushiony, which I love. There is some stickiness here, I’m not going to lie, but it’s not overtly offensive to me.
I hope you enjoyed checking out The Sexiest Beauty’s lip wardrobe! What did you find the most intriguing? I’d love to know!
xo, Erica
All of these shades are gorgeous! I’m a sucker for nude lippys as well lol
The colors are beaut! I can’t stop with the nude lippies! 😆
Love the DSL gloss and Nympho Nude! X
Thanks girl, I love them too! 😉❤️
I love the nude with the gloss! It looks great! All the colors look great on you. It’s amazing how you can pull them all off. 🙂
Thanks so much Michelle! I’m still not very adventurous with my lip color choices, so I try to use the brighter tones in other ways that I’m going to talk about in another post 😉.
That’s great that they have different formulas to suit several preferences. Shame that the matte is a bit dry because the are some formulas that are still moisturizing or hydrating. I agree that brands have come out with better gloss formulas because these are way better than what I used to wear eons ago lol
It’s just so strange that I’ve gotten attracted to glosses lately – totally unexpected!
Lol trust me, you arent the only one who was taken by surprise with lip glosses. 🤣
I think it was only a matter of time before glosses as we used to know them changed. Customers nowadays are so demanding and don’t tolerate much b.s. What worked when we were 14 certainly won’t fly anymore!
That’s very true!
I love the first lipstick Nympho Nude and the lip gloss the most! That’s such a great everyday lipstick shade.
I agree! I love mixing it with darker colors too to lighten them up!
Thank you for introducing us to this brand, Erica!! That lipgloss is so pretty on you & I love that it comes with a brush instead of a traditional doe-foot. 🙂
Me too! It’s the little touches sometimes!
