Hi friends!
I hope you’ve been enjoying indie beauty month so far, and have discovered some new bits and brands! Today we’re continuing with the all-natural & organic cosmetic brand RMS Beauty. You may have seen their signature little glass pots deck the shelves of retailers such as Sephora, Blue Mercury, Bloomingdale’s, Anthropologie, and Credo in the U.S. (If you’re in Canada or abroad you can check their website for stockists.) They are a skincare-infused cosmetics line that heavily emphasizes the effects of nourishing, raw, & organically-certified ingredients in their products. So it ain’t just about looking good, it’s also about feeling good too.
Case in point: the RMS Beauty lip2cheek. A multi-tasking lip and cheek-staining product that’s made incredibly creamy through the inclusion of ingredients such as coconut oil, caster seed oil, shea butter, and jojoba seed oil, amongst other oils and waxes. Below you’ll find the official product description.
A multi-tasking cream color for lips and cheeks. Created with nourishing organic ingredients, each unique shade can vary from a youthful sheer to a more densely colored stain. Our lip2cheek is a unique formula that combines hydration and protection with abundant mineral color for a beautiful, natural finish on both lips and cheeks. Pigments are very concentrated so a little goes a long way. Note: colors vary on some computer screens and will not appear as dark on the skin when applied.
Non-GMO, non-nano, soy-free, gluten-free, cruelty-free.
My first lip2cheek purchase was in the shade Modest, a very punchy pink. I actually included it as one of my favorite cream blushes in an early 2018 blog post , but the texture got a bit pasty with age so I’ve since thrown that color out. So when I found myself back at Blue Mercury recently, I stared swatching the formula in different shades. I settled on the shade Spell, which the brand describes as a “modern nude dusty rose.” I‘m so glad I picked it because I’ve fallen head-over-heels for it! I’m all about the neutral brown-pinks these days, either on my lips or my cheeks.
Lemme tell you how I wear and apply it.
When you put your (clean!) finger into the pot, you immediately feel just how creamy and hydrating this formula is. If you have dry skin like me, and are always looking for ways to incorporate moisturizing formulas into your routine, you will be all over this! If you’d prefer to use a brush instead of your finger, I would recommend trying some kind of duo-fiber brush that’s good with picking up and applying cream textures. But I don’t have a problem using my fingers personally.
I gently swirl my middle finger into the color and start stippling it onto the apples of my cheeks; stippling helps to both apply the color and blend it simultaneously. I then take the color along my cheekbones, patting and stippling all the time. I always apply my blush in this general way as I like the shape it gives my face.
So far I’ve only used this as a blush. I may try it on my lips from time to time, but I see myself getting much more use out of this product as a blush rather than a colored lip balm.
Lemme talk a bit about the color and finish.
Spell is a bit deceptive in that when you swatch on your hand, the color is definitely more on the sheer side. However, you can see the shine and feel the hydration it offers to the skin though. Good news is that when you start applying Spell to the cheek, the color totally pops and comes alive! I actually like my blush to be a stronger element in my overall makeup since that’s usually the first product to fade throughout the day on me. So I’m not afraid to pile this on essentially, but if you prefer a lighter hand with your blush you may want to go slower.
The finish on the RMS Beauty lip2cheek is so incredibly lovely! It’s quite similar to the Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm but I’d say it has greater longevity. You get color but you also get this beautifully natural sheen and shine like you would get from a balm-type product. Absolutely no shimmer, pearl or glitter involved. Just pure glow. The effect will fade a bit over time (what doesn’t?), but even after a full day of wear I still see some sheen when I turn my head. Impressive!

Would you try the RMS Beauty lip2cheek formula? I’d love to know!

I love the color! I’ve never really tried a creamy blush before. I think I need to Branch out. 🙂
Oh, they’re lovely! But it really all depends what kind of finish you want, what kind of texture, etc. I love a good powder blush too, but creams are my jam since my skin is so dry all the time.
I also love the color. It looks super calm and natural. As usual a a wonderful post with an amazing product. Creamy products are always good when you are in your early 40’s…. LOL. Thank you Erica!
You may love this one Bushra! Maybe go into store and have a swatch 😉😊.
I love that color! It looks great on our skin tone 🙂 I also have dry skin so this might be a fun product to try out!
You may really love it then! It’s definitely not the cheapest ($36), but I haven’t yet found a drugstore cream blush that I can really get behind…yet. Hopefully one day 🤞🏼.
Thanks for this post, Erica! I also have dry skin usually and battle to find cosmetic products and leave my skin feeling hydrated so this is definitely a must-try for me. The color looks very pretty on you:)
Thanks so much! If you’re looking for hydration, you may really love this one!
Beautiful shade on you and cream blushes look so natural ! 💄
Thanks so much! They do indeed!
I’ve never heard of this brand or product, I’m not that into multi-tasking products as I will never use them that way lol and also, I dont believe I’ve ever tried cream blushes but this is intriguing. That’s too bad it fades on you throughout the day but glad to know that the sheen holds up. I can actually see the sheen on your swatch photo and it looks stunning! And even more so on your skin!!
Yea the sheen is so beautiful with this product! I like creams a bit more over powders because they look so natural on the skin. Plus I love that bit of moisture and tackiness they give to my skin. Some of them are more cream-to-powder formulas but I much prefer these super juicy ones like the RMS!
I’ve never tried cream to powder ones either so I may have to look into them lol
Ha! Well if you prefer more powdery blushes, you may like those better. Revlon did a good version of a cream to powder formula, but not sure if they’re around anymore. They were called the PhotoReady Cream Blushes or something and they were in a circular package. Maybe do some snooping at the drugstore!
I will actually be going to several beauty shops including the drugstore to get a few things this week 🙂
Love a good drugstore shop!
Yay, yet another brand that’s new to me!! I haven’t heard of them or seen them in stores yet but I do love how the blush is more of a sheeny shine with no sparkles or glitter. It’s so pretty, you picked such a nice shade. <3
Thank you! RMS is a bit harder to find than some other brands, but that being said, I believe Sephora does stock some of their products in their ‘Clean’ section. I just love how natural it looks and the finish is absolutely stunning!
I’ll def keep an eye out for the brand when I go shopping next. 😉
