Hi friends!
If you didn’t know, it’s indie beauty month on here all throughout July. We’re shining a spotlight on some lesser-known beauty brands, so I’m kicking things off today with a very luxe moisturizer: the One Ocean Beauty Replenishing Deep Sea Moisturizer. But first, a little bit about the brand itself.
One Ocean Beauty was founded in 2018 and they refer to themselves as a “…sustainable, scientifically-proven beauty and wellness company.” Their small product line is almost exclusively in the skincare category, and everything is very, very luxe specifically in terms of price; their range is priced between $38.00 – $125.00. The brand’s ethos surrounds the ocean – the healing properties of the ocean, the culling of useful marine actives for their products, and the preservation of the oceans. Every time you buy a product, a donation is made to Oceana with whom they have a partnership, which is awesome.
There’s a ton of information on their website about their company and their story. If you’re interested to know more in-depth stuff, head over there! Now let’s get into the actual product.

This baby isn’t for the faint of heart – $82.00 for 50 mL of product! Yup, you read that right! Now I have to add a disclosure here: I didn’t buy this product myself, nor did the brand send it to me. I was very generously gifted this back at an event in February that was unrelated to the brand. It was included in a gift bag with other products. But these are all my 100% honest thoughts.
I’ve been using this moisturizer for well over a month now as part of my nightly skincare routine; it’s the last step in my routine after cleansing, serum and eye cream. It’s very interesting because it’s actually quite lightweight to the touch, yet it feels very nourishing on the skin. I have dry skin naturally, but I’d imagine this kind of formula would work well with oily or combo skin as it’s not too claggy or overly emollient. There’s also no scent at all, which I love in skincare as there’s less chance for irritation.

The packaging is really beautiful and sturdy. It’s thick plastic with a lightweight wooden top. It’s honestly a joy to hold. Apparently all their packaging is 100% recyclable, FYI.
Truthfully, I’ve really enjoyed using this moisturizer. It hasn’t broken me out at all and it behaves quite nicely with the other products I’m currently using. I’m actually trying to stretch this tub out as much as possible by using smaller amounts everyday! Lately, I’ve also been mixing it with a facial oil from The Ordinary, and again it combines very nicely with other products.
WOULD I PURCHASE IT?
In all likelihood, no. I enjoy it a lot but not enough to pay over $80.00. I’m willing to buy mid-market prices when it comes to skincare at this stage in my life and that’s about it; a good example are Clinique products. But if you’re into your clean skincare that’s good for the environment and everything -free – like cruelty-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, etc – and you don’t mind paying luxe prices, then you may love this moisturizer.
Would you pay luxe for the One Ocean Beauty Replenishing Deep Sea Moisturizer? I’d love to know!
xo, Erica
PIN IT!
1. I’m not sure why I had to follow you again because I was already followed. Hmmm.
2. Great post. $80 for a face cream?! Yikes. Seems like a lovely cream, but no so much for the price. Maybe if they added more product for the same price, I’d consider it.
Wow, that’s strange! I’ve noticed my follower rate has gone up and down recently, so I don’t know what’s going on. Is WP turning into Instagram?? Heaven forbid!
Yea, this is some expensive bougee stuff for sure! I’m so happy and grateful I was gifted it, but I just couldn’t bring myself to purchase myself considering the cost. It’s lovely stuff though.
Just to add to the above comment, I’ve been having the same following issues with WP lately. I have to refresh the page and then it says I’m following. Very strange.
Anyway, no I would not pay that price but oh my goodness I want that so bad! 😀 Just the name itself makes me want it!
So weird! My count goes up and down every few days now 🤨.
It’s such a beautiful cream and I loveee using it, but darn it’s some super pricey stuff! If you saw it in person, I bet you’d love the packaging too! It’s so sleek and understated but luxe at the same time 😉.
This sounds like a great moisturizer, I’m just not liking the price! $80 is a lot for one face cream, and I usually go through a container that size in about six weeks. If it was a little cheaper I would consider it!
Yea, I totally get it. Super-duper bougee stuff! I’m thrilled to be using it, but I couldn’t justify such a hefty purchase in the future!
Sometimes it’s nice to try something luxurious! x
For sure 😉.
Ok, I’m sold on this moisturizer and the brand itself, they’re brand new and I love that they lean towards sustainability. I’ve seen loads of brands use marine “ingredients” and I’ve had a chance to try a few as well, so I know how good luxe skincare can be, but yikes!! The price!! I could never!! The packaging looks super beautiful though.
Tell me about it! Couldn’t bring myself to purchase a tub, so I’m really trying to stretch out what I have!
Sounds l8ke a good moisturizer…. would I pay that amount? Probably because if it works for skin, then it works pricewise .😬
Definitely, if you love the effect it gives you it may be worth it. It is a beautiful product!
I’m on my second jar. The price may seem ridiculously high, but my first jar lasted two years. Why? A little goes a very long way with this cream. Highly recommend!!
