Hi friends!
Another month has ticked by and October is now here. After a month weighty with posts on new launches and social media trends, it’s time to get back to what we all love talking about…products! More specifically product reviews.
I know many of you out there who read this are solely dedicated to buying cruelty-free beauty products, or any product that isn’t tested on animals before it comes to market. Some take it a step further and only purchase vegan products, or any product that is both cruelty-free and completely devoid of any animal product or by-product in its formulation. So I wanted to speak to all you guys out there who only shop compassionate products, and bring you some vegan and cruelty-free reviews as part of this month’s new content theme!
Read this: 100% cruelty-free makeup look
Now not every review is going to be on a product that is both vegan and cruelty-free; in some instances the product may just be cruelty-free. This is because I’m working with what I currently have in my collection, so I hope you guys don’t mind. I will of course indicate what is what to make it clear.
It’s important to note that if you’re particularly strict about buying vegan and/or cruelty-free products, please do your own research as to what brands you support with your cash. For instance, most of the brands I will mention are not Leaping Bunny certified but their cruelty-free claims are supported by well-known CR blogs like Logical Harmony and Cruelty-Free Kitty. It’s completely up to you who you want to believe or not.
So make sure to check back every Friday this month for a new product review! The fun starts later this week with a brand that is new to me and to the blog, Lune + Aster. Exciting!
Do you only shop compassionate products? If so, what are your go-to brands? I’d love to know!
xo, Erica
PIN IT!
I honestly don’t pay attention, but maybe I should. For some reason this reminded me of when I was younger and believed that when they said that the product wasn’t tested on animals I thought they put the makeup on the animals. Like there was a field out behind the Cover Girl warehouse full of sheep wearing lipstick.
Oh my gosh, I can’t, that’s so funny!!! Imagine a field full of sheep wearing CoverGirl lipsticks 😆!!
I clearly buy both CF and non-CF beauty products myself, but I know there’s a growing number of “conscious” consumers out there.
Cruelty free is more important to me than a product being Vegan. Beautiful eyeshadow palette !
I really should transition to only buying cruelty-free products from now on. It’s the right thing to do!
I never knew about this at all! I will definitely look for cruelty free from now on. Thanks!
Yep, it’s definitely a big deal in the beauty community for a lot of people!
Yess!! You were right, I am so excited for this theme for the month. You know I am a cruelty-free only consumer. ♡
I’m CF for the most part but I do make an exception for a brand or two, however, I dont constantly purchase non-CF brands and try my best to keep researching for alternative brands etc. Buying vegan products isnt at the top of my list, I think I care more to know that they’re CF.
I’m not exclusively either CF or vegan with my products, but I honestly want to make more of an effort to buy only CF products in the future. It’s hard though because I love buying from the drugstore, but most of those brands aren’t CF. Maybe one day they’ll make the move like CoverGirl did.
